In the way to the beach, on the dry forest, I will show you the local flora and fauna and we can talk about conservation strategies done by between government, NGOs, small companies and neighbors to protect this ecosystem. This tour is not only about turtles, it is a learning experience and motivation to promote nature conservation. Why is this tour important?Costa Rican North Pacific beaches are important nesting places for sea turtles. The IUCN catalogue the black turtle (Chelonia mydas) as critically endangered. That’s the reason why the outreach of their protection and the environmental education are important tools to reach conservation goals. This tour is part of a project made to promote sustainable development.
